our story

It all began with a camping trip around Europe in 2009 when we stumbled upon a charming wine bar in the medieval town of Lienz, Austria, overlooked by the snow-capped mountains of Tyrol. The bar was brimming with fascinating wines, and the simple yet delicious artisan cheese and cured meats selection was the perfect complement.
As we savoured the experience, we couldn't help but discuss the possibility of owning our own wine bar someday.

Fast-forward five years, and we turned our dream into reality by creating "Wine Industry, Vinoteca y Picoteo" in the bustling Santa Catalina area of Palma de Mallorca.
With over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Ivan's professionalism, enthusiasm, and language skills made him the perfect choice for managing the front of the house.
On the other hand, my role focused more on the kitchen and creative aspects of the business.

Wine Industry, Vinoteca y Picoteo
As our wine bar business evolved, it became apparent that our customers appreciated our approachable nature, down-to-earth attitude, and willingness to share our passion and knowledge of the wines we sourced.
Our reputation grew steadily as a result, with our cozy bar becoming a popular venue for good quality, lesser-known wines, homemade tapas, and sharing platters at fair prices.
However, after four and a half years, we knew that we needed to diversify and re-shape our business model to better connect with our customers. So, we made the difficult decision to sell the wine bar and pursue a new direction.
In March 2019, we launched our new business model, "Bringing Wine to You," which focuses on distribution, provisioning, wine tasting experiences, and wine tours.
Our new venture allows us to be more flexible and connect with our customers in new and exciting ways.
We're excited to continue sharing our love of wine with you!

Ivan Gonzalez Gainza
Iván's passion for wine developed during his 20+ years working in the hospitality industry.
He loves the diversity that wine has to offer and he also loves a wine with a great story behind it.
Not only does Iván live, breathe, talk and sip wine but he also writes about it every month for the digital magazine Mallorca La Vida.
It's no wonder he gained a merit in his WSET 3 exam!

Lara Roxanne Corfield
Lara's love for wine began with her parents. They had a habit of seeking out rare and lesser-known gems to share with their friends, with a particular fondness for Italian wines.
Lara is the backbone of the Wine Industry team, working diligently behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly. She's often the one who'll answer your emails and respond to any enquiries – so don't hesitate to reach out to her with any questions you may have!
