Barahonda Casa del Capitán Blanco is a luscious macabeo white wine, perfectly balanced with a rich and savoury acidity. The wine's aroma is a delightful blend of fresh fruit with a strong hint of citrus.
The wine's oak barrel ageing adds a subtle, woody flavour to the wine, making it a perfect choice for wine enthusiasts who prefer a vegan wood-aged wine. The wine has been aged for 8 months in French oak barrels to achieve its unique taste.
The Macabeo grapes are hand-picked and selected before undergoing vertical press vinification. After pressing, the grapes are transferred to stainless steel tanks for fermentation. Once the maceration-fermentation stage is finished, the wine is moved to barrels to undergo malolactic fermentation.
Here's a taste of what you can expect from this wine:
- Aromas: Casa del Capitán has abundant aromas of fresh fruit and citrus fruits, in addition to the light touches of wood due to its time in barrel.
- Palate: In the mouth, it is refreshing, thanks to its good acidity.
- Serving Temperature: This white wine is best enjoyed from 7ºC to 9ºC.
- Pairing: Suitable with all types of fish, especially white and blue fish. It also pairs well with poultry and even special cuts of Iberian pork - "pluma" or "secreto".
This wine is suitable for vegetarians and vegans to enjoy.
