El Bicho Raro, which translates to 'the oddball' in English, is a unique red wine hailing from the Yecla region in Spain. While Barahonda typically focuses on wines made from the Monastrell grape variety, the Bicho Raro stands out as it includes Tintorera (70%), Syrah (20%), and a smaller portion of Monastrell (10%). Who doesn't appreciate a touch of the unusual?
WINE MAKING
El Bicho Raro undergoes fermentation and maceration in stainless steel vats for 15 days at a controlled temperature of 20/25 ºC. Following this process, the wine is aged in American and French oak barrels for a minimum of 12 months.
For optimal storage, maintain a temperature range of 14/16° C and store the wine horizontally. It is recommended to enjoy within 7/8 years.
