The story of 'Afuereñas... La Uvas' began in 2014 when Esteban Celemín planted the vines as an experimental vineyard in the region of Castronuño, at an elevation of 700 metres.

The unique soil composition of this vineyard is a key factor in shaping the character of the wine it produces. With a sandstone subsoil and sandy loam surface, enriched with a high chalk content, the terroir imparts a distinctive mineral quality to the grapes.

The grape varieties cultivated in this vineyard are a harmonious blend of Roussanne, Chenin Blanc, and Viognier, carefully selected to showcase the best of each grape's characteristics.

The winemaking process focuses on traditional methods. The grapes were gently crushed without destemming, pressed in a vertical press, and left to naturally decant before undergoing fermentation and ageing in barrels for a year. The wine was then bottled without fining, preserving its natural essence, and lightly filtered to ensure clarity.

The 2021 vintage of Afuereñas... La Uvas is a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship of the winemaker. Aged for 12 months in a five-year-old barrel, this limited production of only 450 bottles embodies a perfect balance of fruitiness, power, and flavour.

Each sip of Afuereñas... La Uvas promises a sensory journey, inviting you to savour the essence of the vineyard and the artistry of Esteban’s winemaking.
