Recóndita Armonía 2010 is a sweet red wine made entirely from Monastrell grapes. The winery, Gutiérrez de la Vega, claims that "it is the playful, cheerful, lively and fresh cousin of Fondillón" (a sweet wine typical of the Alicante region).
The grapes were manually harvested from bush vines when they were over-ripe. Fermentation took place in 300-litre open oak barrels, with maceration for 15 days. The wine was then aged in French oak barrels.
Here's a taste of what you can expect from this wine:
- Appearance: Recóndita Armonía 2010 is a bright cherry colour with a garnet rim.
- Aromas: On the nose, candied fruit is evident, as well as hints of caramel, tea leaf, spices and fine cocoa.
- Palate: To taste, this wine is full and spicy with contrasting notes of savoury and sweet.
- Serving Temperature: Serve this wine between 12 and 14 ºC.
- Pairing: Pair this wine with chocolate cake combined with fruit, fresh goat's cheese and nougat from Alicante.
