LMT Wines Artaxo is a red Garnacha wine that embodies the rich tradition of the Basque region. Named after the holm oak (Artaxo in Basque), this wine is a homage to the old Garnacha vines found in the micro-plots of Artajona and Artazu.

Artaxo is crafted from 100% Garnacha grapes grown organically in small, herbicide-free micro-plots. These goblet-trained, old vines are tended by hand. During harvest time, the grapes are handpicked into small boxes, with a percentage of whole bunches trodden by foot. Each plot is fermented separately using indigenous yeasts, ensuring the unique character of the grapes shines through.

After fermentation, the wine is aged in used French and Navarrese oak barrels, carefully blended, and bottled without fining or filtering - resulting in a pure and authentic expression of Garnacha.

Artaxo is a testament to Luis Moya’s dedication to preserving Garnacha’s legacy. The careful blending of micro-plot expressions results in a wine that is not only expressive and approachable but also steeped in tradition. Don’t miss your chance to experience this exceptional wine that brings together craftsmanship, organic practices, and the true spirit of Basque winemaking.
