Introducing Gorobel, a fresh new white wine from LMT Wines:

Located in the village of Orduña (Bizkaia), the vineyard sits on the slope of the "GOROBEL" mountain range – the dividing line between the Mediterranean and Cantabrian slopes.  Gorobel is a natural meeting point between the dry southern wind and the cold, wet wind from the Bay of Biscay, which gives the wine its Atlantic character.

The 33-year-old vineyard is cultivated without herbicides, insecticides, or systemic products. Weeding is done by hand, with sulphur and copper, and there is an average rainfall of 900mm.  The harvest is manually done in small crates and the grapes undergo a total destemming before being vatted in stainless steel tanks.  Fermentation lasts 8 days with indigenous yeast and skins.  Ageing occurs in French oak barrels, stainless steel vats, stainless steel vats with lias, and glass demijohns. The wine is bottled without fining or filtering, and with minimal intervention.

Here's a taste of what you can expect from this wine:

  • Aromas: LMT Wines Txakolina boasts aromas of reineta apple, apple tart and dried apricots.
  • Palate: It has a sharp entry, great aromatic intensity, and a play of different textures in the mouth.
