Son Puig, a small family-owned winery, primarily uses grapes from its estate in the Puigpunyent valley to craft its wines. This valley, nestled in the Serra de Tramuntana, boasts a unique microclimate that slows down grape ripening, imparting a distinctive character to the wines.
The grapes, carefully selected from the vineyard, yield around 40,000 bottles annually, subject to the year's weather conditions, under the Protected Geographical Indication Vi de la terra de Mallorca.
The winery's 8-hectare vineyard, divided into small plots surrounding the building, cultivates various grape varieties such as Callet, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tempranillo for red wines, and Prensal Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Giró Ros, and aromatic Malvasía for white wines.
Their Son Puig Prensal Blanc 2023, falling under the Protected Geographical Indication Mallorca, presents a young, Mediterranean, fresh, light, dry, and mineral white wine.
Comprising 90% Prensal, 8% Chardonnay, and 2% Sauvignon Blanc, the grapes undergo gentle pressing followed by low-temperature fermentation for 18 days. The wine rests on its fine lees in stainless steel tanks for 5 months before filtering and bottling on-site. This wine contains sulphites and has an alcohol content of 13% vol.
Here's a taste of what you can expect from this wine:

- Palate: The taste is fresh, slightly acidic, with a subtle bitterness, delivering a clean and flavourful experience,
